How to Download
If your device is on this list, you should install
iQcontacts
which is the newest version of PhoneMagic for these devices.

If you are a registered user of PhoneMagic, and have one of these
devices, you will need to upgrade
to iQcontacts and get a new key. See what's
new in iQcontacts.

For all other Palm devices, do the following:
1. DOWNLOAD: Download
PhoneMagic Version 1.33
This file is named pmag133.zip.
Save the file to your hard drive and remember the filename and location.
If prompted to overwrite files, say Yes. A zip file is a
compressed file which contains several files within it.

2. EXTRACT: You'll need WinZip
(or a similar program) to extract the files out of the "zip"
file. (If you are using a MacIntosh computer, use StuffIt).
If prompted to overwrite files, say Yes.
Remember the location of the extracted files. After
extracting the files, read the readme.txt file.

3. INSTALL: Using the Palm Install Tool (that is provided
as part of the Palm desktop software), install the phonemag.prc
file on your computer.

4. HOTSYNC: Perform a HotSync in order to transfer the file
to your Palm organizer.
NOTE: If in the future, you want to delete PhoneMagic, and
your Palm organizer is running Palm OS 3.5 or lower, make sure to
uncheck the Phone Lookup Enabled and Command Bar Enabled
preferences in the PhoneMagic Prefs screen before you delete PhoneMagic.

5. RUN: On your Palm organizer, tap the PhoneMagic icon
to run the application.

If you received a registration key, tap the I Have a Key
button, and skip to step 6.
If this is a trial period, tap the Register
Later button. You can use PhoneMagic for
30 days without entering a registration key.
After 30 days it will expire.

If you do not have a registration key, you will
see this screen displayed. You will see information
displayed on the screen detailing how to obtain
a registration key, tap the OK button.

6. SET UP:
If you had a previous version of PhoneMagic, you will see a What's New
screen on your Palm organizer.
If this is the first time you are installing PhoneMagic, you will need to
go through several set-up screens.

The screen informs you about the features of PhoneMagic.
If you want to read more, scroll to the next screen. Tap the
Done button to when you are finished.

The screen will indicate that you first need to set up the
PhoneMagic Preferences. Tap the OK button to continue.
See the Handbook for more details.

On devices where the Address / Contacts application
is launched from a button, if Launch with Address Button
is checked, then PhoneMagic will be launched by that button.
If you do not want PhoneMagic to be launched instead of the
Address / Contacts application, then uncheck Launch with Address Button.

Treo 600: If Launch with Address Button is checked,
PhoneMagic will replace Contacts as the application to be launched
from the Phone application by pressing Down on the
5-Way Navigator.
Tap the OK button to continue.

If Launch with Address Button was checked
on the Preferences screen, you will be notified that when
you press the Address / Contacts button on your Palm organizer,
PhoneMagic will be run.
Tap the OK button to continue.

If you have a color Palm organizer,
the Color Settings screen will be displayed.
You can tap the i in the top right
hand corner of the Palm organizer to get the Tips
screen. This explains the settings.
Tap the OK button to continue.

Setup has now been completed. If you do not have a registration
key, you can now use PhoneMagic for 30 days. Don't forget to register
before it expires.
During the evaluation period, a message will be shown every seven
days, that will let you know how many days are left before PhoneMagic
expires. In the last week of the evaluation period, you will
get this message every two or three days.

7. REGISTER: If you have a registration key, enter the registration
key that was assigned to you.
|
|
|

The registration key is an (8) eight
character code. Please enter the key in lower
case letters. Then tap the Register button.
|

|
|
|
| |
If the registration key does not work, tap the Register
Later button, and send an email to info@phonemagic.com
with the following information:

|
You can always check how many days are left
before expiration, by running PhoneMagic, and selecting
Registration from the Options Menu.
